Star Draws

Star Draws is a quick, chaotic card‑battler where you build a spaceship out of whatever cards you draw, bolt on weapons, slap on hull plates, and hope your ship doesn’t explode before everyone else’s does.

Games take around 15 - 30 minutes, depending on how many questionable decisions you make.

This is the Version 1.0 Playtest Pack - the “Sharpie Edition.” You don’t need fancy cards. You don’t need a printer. You just need:

• A deck of playing cards
• A marker
• This rules sheet
• A sense of adventure
• A willingness to accept that your ship might be held together with duct tape

What’s Included

• The one‑page rules
• The Raigerz faction (scrap‑tech pirates with bad grammar and worse engineering)
• (NEW!) The Sictoids faction (ravenous space bugs with an endless apettite)
  
• A full 40‑card list so you can make your own deck
• A licence that lets you share, remix, and generally cause trouble

How to Playtest

1. Grab a deck of playing cards.
2. Copy the card list onto them with a marker.
3. Build your ship.
4. Destroying your friends’ ships.
5. Tell me what broke.

What Happens Next

I'll be using this page to provide updates on the core rules as well as additional rules and game types - like the following:

Chaos Mode - Once all players have set up their starting ship, shuffle all remaining cards into one huge-mongous deck. All plays draw from this deck for the remainder of the game.

Quick-Fire Mode - Draw one card per turn - instead of three - and play it as it comes.

There are four more factions planned for this playtest run.

I'll be releasing them at two week intervals (next scheduled release is Tuesday 16th June - for all fans of space fuzz) to allow a little time for testing.
